Waffle cushion, formally known as the mitred square cushion

Ok, I promised you this yesterday but somehow yesterday ran away with itself so I am here today.


I am really pleased with how my little cushion is coming along. I decided to edge each little knitted square with crochet then crochet them together.


I love the texture it has produced. I think from now on I am going to rename it the waffle cushion.


Since I took these pics a couple of days ago I have started knitting a border to crochet on in the same way so the edges waffle as well as the middle does.


I am thinking that the back will be stripy - probably crocheted because that is quicker and I am an impatient soul. What do you think?

    The texture looks great! I'm not sure how this would work but if you don't want to crochet the back, could you put some fleece or soft fabric backing? Ada :)

      I did think about it but I think I would always feel it was a cp out and that I had only knitted/crocheted half a cushion. Still to finishe the border - only done one side so far. x
